What a weekend!!
On Saturday I had a fantastic day modelling alongside the very beautiful Sophia Blake with Rob Carter behind the camera! We had a lot of laughs and of course made Rob's day very difficult by being two demanding diva's (not really but we did make him work super hard!). It was a wonderful day and I would love to work with Sophia again! Below are a few back of camera shots from the day ("real" photos to follow soon - *nudge nudge Rob* ;) haha). Oh and I already have the next shoot booked in with Rob so I can't say he's all that bad ;P haha (plus he's put up with me prancing around in front of his camera, I don't even know how many times over the past.. 5/6 years!) <3
It did get a little confusing because Atlas Studio is also owned by another wonderful guy named.... (you guessed it) Rob! He was on hand to help with anything we needed during the day but for the majority of the shoot left us to it whilst working in his office :) He is such a lovely studio owner, He's made me feel very welcome on each visit and really has put a lot of effort into transforming this truly wonderful space into one of the biggest and best location studio's I've ever seen!
Model Day!
I was super excited to host the very first model day at Atlas Studio on the Sunday! I don't think it has ever been easier, within the first few days of posting a casting I had 7 of the 8 slots filled and it ended up being a sell out with almost a month to go before the event! Rob (studio owner) was very helpful and supportive throughout and provided me all the details I needed (and advertisements etc.) in record breaking time!
First up I had the pleasure of meeting Richard Egan (I've heard great things and admired his work for a while). Safe to say we got on like a house on fire and seemed to be capturing really beautiful shots from the moment I got in front of the camera! I can't wait to see more of the work he created I think we made a fantastic team and I really enjoyed the session! (Richards photographer can be seen to the right -->)
Next was one of my all time favourite ladies! Nicole-Rayner is not only a brilliant model but also an awesomely creative photographer too!! We managed to get a few "duo" shots whilst she was there and then I also got in front of her camera.. Unfortunately on the day I had a bit of an "accident" and was devastated that I couldn't continue for a portion of the shoot. Nicole was so patient with me and as soon as we could we got back to shooting! I'm still very embarrassed that my injury stopped me but Nicole was just so lovely about the whole thing! I thoroughly love working with her both sides of the lens and really can't wait for our "duo day" at Sandon Studio on the 23rd July!! (email me for details: MissScarlotRose@hotmail.com). Here are a few "behind the scenes" selfies:
And here is a slightly less silly one she took:
So accident aside, the day was already going amazingly well and then Robert turned up! We had never met but his pre-comms were excellent. Robert turned up full of ideas, he had plenty to input but also valued my ideas too which made it feel like a real collaborative effort. Robert had some really cool ideas for composite images which I found fascinating and he has already been kind enough to send me a few images over from the shoot!! (click slideshow to enlarge)
Second to last was Greg Miller. Again the pre-comms were faultless, Greg turned up on time and again full of enthusiasm for the space. By this point my eye "issue" was causing me quite a lot of pain and discomfort and Greg was fantastically patient! I honestly could not have asked for a nicer group of people from the model day! The two hours flew by and made the most of the space trying various things all each of the different rooms.
Greg was also kind enough to share a few shots from the day, on the back of the camera I was sure the colour version looked better, but now I can't decide! what do you think?
Sadly I had to cancel (well, re-arrange) the last two hours with Malbon (who was incredibly understanding) and take a trip to A&E! Thankfully no lasting damage just scratched the surface of my eye which was causing all the pain and irritation, a few weird and unpleasant things and I was free to go! Rob the studio owner was thankfully first aid trained and he even took me to the A&E and sat with me until I was seen by a doctor, I've never met someone so accommodating and helpful and I was just really glad to be in safe hands! I seriously can't thank everyone enough for their efforts, enthusiasm and patience on the day - it was certainly one to remember (for both good and bad reasons) haha!
And although I'm really upset and embarrassed that I had to cancel the last two hours at least I still have them to look forward to on a different date! :)
Thank you all!!
